August 27, 2021 COVID-19 Testing Available at Red Clay Schools
In partnership with the Delaware Division of Public Health and Quidel, Red Clay schools are offering COVID-19 testing this fall. Learn more and register.

September 28, 2021 Governor Issues Emergency Regulation Requiring Vaccination or Testing for K-12 Employees
Governor John Carney, the Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH), and the Delaware Department of Education (DOE) announced on September 28 that educators, school staff, contractors, and volunteers who work in K-12 public and private schools must get vaccinated for COVID-19 or undergo weekly testing. The requirement, which will be formally issued by emergency regulation, takes effect November 1.

We are working with our respective employee groups to ensure we are in compliance with the latest order issued by Governor Carney. As we continue to support and maintain safe school environments, this will be another step in mitigating the impact of COVID-19 in Red Clay schools.

October 7, 2021 Chaperones on Field Trips
Chaperones may be permitted to assist on field trips so long as they comply with the State of Delaware's emergency regulation requiring all educators, school staff, contractors and volunteers who work in K-12 public and private schools must get vaccinated for COVID-19 or undergo weekly testing. This requirement will go into effect on November 1, 2021.
Chaperones will be asked to provide proof of vaccination or proof of negative COVID-19 test at least 48-72 hours prior to the field trip. Chaperones must also complete the COVID-19 Self-Screener for Red Clay Students and Staff and comply with all mask requirements.

The Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) updated guidance for schools on January 10. The new infographics define close contacts in school settings and the response protocol for students and staff based on an individual’s vaccination status.
